Affiliate Programs, Starting A Home Business

Friday, July 31st, 2009

First thing you need to know before starting your own business is you must do your research! There are many great home business opportunities out there; you need to be cautious in choosing a business that is right for you. Find one that suits you best one that you have interest in because you will need to spend a lot of time on that business, and most importantly, you will need to find a business that is legitimate. There are countless numbers of home business offers over the internet today and majority of them will require you to pay a fee to start. Most people will choose the lower fee to start their business and end up failing due to the lack of information given. An online business is not as easy as many advertisements say it is. You will not get rich over night and that is the truth! Here are some good examples of how people make money online
Become an affiliate Become a hosting reseller Sell products online Buy/Sell online auctions Get paid to take surveys Get paid to read emails Get paid to surf the web Get paid to shop Make money with adsense
If you want to start a home business the best advice for you is to find a system that many online entrepreneurs are currently using, find out what made them become successful with their home business, what methods they use that makes them thousand of dollars a month, if you are clueless about how to start your own home business you will definitely need a guide. Take your time to read the information carefully and remember not to give up half way because if you do you will not succeed. Another good advice for you is focus on your business and stick to one until you see results, you will fail if you try to do too many at once. Without a guide though one may be lost in choosing the right business opportunity, with many scams circling around the internet these days one may end up spending their money buying information that is worthless to them and they are back where they started; still looking for that one right home business.
The best part about online business is you have more free time to do the things you want to do and you can also easily access your business anywhere in the world using the power of the internet.
Now there are two types of business opportunity one is short term and the other is long term. For example taking online survey is consider short term the more you take time to fill out a survey the more you earn, some survey companies pay you cash and some give out rewards and prizes. There are many resources to take free surveys online and yes you do get paid for your opinion! Watch out for scam survey sites that require you to pay a fee to join. Now if you are looking for a long term home business you should look into starting your own website. You could sell products or information with your own domain name or you can sign up with google adsense and write your own articles on a subject you like. You can also sign up with google adwords and start advertising as an affiliate. The opportunities are endless!
Remember with most home businesses it will take at least 1-3 months before you really start seeing results but in the end it will all pay off. It’s a great feeling once you start seeing great income with your home business that is of course you have worked to get there. Don’t believe in any get rich scheme you see out there, as I have said before you will not get rich over night. Best of luck to you on starting your own home business! SEO Do's and Don'ts: An Old Friend Revisited

Friday, July 31st, 2009

As an SEO guy I find myself waking up in a cold sweat dreaming up creative new ways to maximize my clients search results. “What if I coded it this way” or “If we syndicated the XML feed a different way, we’d blow everyone’s mind”.
In the constantly changing world of algorithms, browser search behaviors, RSS and XML, and simply keeping up with the competition, even the SEO pros sometimes need to take a step back from the “coolness” and speed of technology and revisit our “old friend” the SEO Do’s and Don’t’s!
Here’s the list of SEO Do’s and Dont’s I keep posted on the wall in front of my Captain Kirk-esque command center:
SEO Do’s and Don’ts
Do:
1. Adhere to industry best practices and guidelines. <a href=”www.bruceclay.com is good stuff and pretty much industry standard)
2. Create relevant and useful content for the website using keyword terms
3. Add new content as often as possible
4. Keep website and sitemap up to date
5. Build links in an ongoing, even paced manner
6. Build unique web pages for each keyword term (product or service)
7. Monitor and maintain rankings and competition
8. Remember that every aspect of your website is intertwined with all others (in terms of SEO)
9. Consult your SEO Specialist for recommendations before making any major changes
10. Be patient! SEO is an ongoing process that takes time

Don’t
1. Try to cheat the system, you will get caught, and the gain is only temporary and the penalties are indefinite
2. Use less than 300 words worth of readable, useful content on each page
3. Link to bad neighborhoods or allow bad neighborhoods to link to you (unless you actually are an online porno casino based in Nigeria that sells Canadian Viagra to underage US customers!)
4. Spam like there is no tomorrow
5. Add tons of links as fast as you can
6. Focus on only one linking strategy
7. Over use keyword terms (keyword spamming)
8. Put text into images. Search engines can’t read it and don’t care about your images
9. Forget to interlink your own website
10. Drive yourself crazy checking your rankings every hour on the hour!
It’s great to stay on top of the latest and greatest changes, trends, tools and the ever present “What’s Google doing” gossip – there’s plenty to be found. What’s even greater is achieving long term success on the search engines without letting your core business go to hell in a search term basket!
Happy SEOing!

Search Engines, Do You Want To Rank High On The Search Engines?

Friday, July 31st, 2009

Search Engine Optimization is something that we all are continually searching for the right answers. It seems that the algorithms keep changing, what is it that we need to do now. If we want to rate high in search engine ranking optimization we need to keep learning the new things. When we are doing web search engine optimization everything differs from Google, Yahoo, MSN, and all the others so how do we keep track?
The subject of ranking high on the search engines is one that comes up often when I’m speaking with potential Web site clients. They have often received conflicting advice from Internet service providers about how to get their URL to appear on the first page of the major search engines.
By the time they come to me they are usually so confused and overwhelmed with information that they aren’t sure what to do. They look at me with total disbelief when I explain how simple it is to rank high on the search engines without spending a lot of money.
There is a lot of hype surrounding search engine optimization and search engine ranking. “Web masters” and other experts we rely on for quality information all seem to say something different. And when they do agree, it sounds like a foreign language.
A well-written home page with strong content about your business, a carefully chosen page title, a brief but exact description, and good relevancy will produce consistent long-term results that you’ll be happy with.
Can I be #1 on Google? Yes, it’s possible to be #1 on Google and the other search engines. In my free report, you’ll receive information that will show you to rank #1 on Google instantly. This isn’t a substitute for regular, scheduled search engine submissions, and it does cost more to do, a lot more depending on your business, but it is entirely possible.

Finding Hot Selling Products to Sell

Friday, July 31st, 2009

In order to locate products that sell online, we need to understand what people already want to buy. Finding a good choice of idea or product is always accompanied by interfacing the demand for the product in the current market and the level of competition or market share that the product will be having in the long run.
“What should I sell? What products are hot selling? These are the questions most people are trying to find an answer in order for them to make the definite decision. And if we really want to know the answer to this question, our only choice is to do some research. There are all kinds of twists along the road that may lead you to think you have a high-demand idea. We must be able to understand and satisfy the need, wants and expectations of our customers on a certain product that they’re trying to buy. This three are called the basic needs or minimum requirements in a purchase. Needs are the basic reasons or the minimum requirements consumers are looking for in a product or service. They are called the qualifying or “gatekeeper” dimensions in a purchase. Wants are the determining dimensions among many choices. Expectations, on the other hand, are values or intangibles associated with a product or service. Expectations are actually part of “wants” but they become extremely important when products or services are not differentiated.
For example, in reading a logic book, university students look for the following: Relevant logic concepts use of simple language, easy to understand and affordable prices. These similar ideas can be applied to Internet Sales as well. After all, the Internet is just another place to sell products. The basic concept of demand is the same there as it is anywhere else, and has been all the time.
Now, the second thing that must be considered in finding “hot” products to sell are the level of competition or the market shares do your product will have. Market share or level of competition means the ratio of your brand sales versus the total market sales. While companies would naturally define its target competitors, it is actually the consumers who ultimately decide the competitive frame, or the list related products or services that consumers consider when exercising their purchasing power. We must therefore choose the market segment where we can have a potential leadership or at least a strong challenger role. Because the overriding objective of getting into this business is not just to satisfy the needs and wants of our customers but to do so profitably better than his competition. Otherwise, our competition will end up satisfying the customers better than our own interest.
Third factor to be considered in finding hot selling products is finding out the general interest level about the product. General interest in a product helps us to gauge where our demand and competition numbers fall into the big picture. Simply saying, if there isn’t much demand for the product, and there isn’t much competition, it would seem that it might not be good a good put up for sale. But the research doesn’t stop here; there is one last thing to be considered to exactly find the hot selling products that you’ve been looking for. We must also learn how others are advertising those products. If there are a good number of them doing so, it may mean that it’s a good product to get into. Coming to the last phase of the process is analyzing and evaluating all the information that has been collected. We have to look at all of the data we have collected on demand, competition, and advertising, and make decision as how they all balance out.
And here are several factors or aspects that must be measured: (a) not enough demand means not enough people are going to buy (b) too much competition means not enough of a profit to go around (c) too much advertising drives up the price of pay per click ads, and competition as well (d) not enough general interest, combined with low demand, means there may not be a good market even if there is competition trying to make the sales

Tips on Analyzing Keywords

Friday, July 31st, 2009

The keywords are important words that your visitors use to find your site. The prospect visitor will type a keyword in the search engine and will get a list of results. In order your website to be displayed by the search engines on a specific search phrase the search engines should “believe” that your website is relevant for this search phrase. To make your website relevant for a certain keyword you need to choose them carefully and to use them wisely in your website content and meta tags.

A keyword is a word that is going to be placed in your article several times, not just once as that would make every word a keyword. When a spider sees that you have a word placed several times in an article, it will determine that your page may be useful to users that search for such a keyword.

Keyword tags are an important element in all web pages. keyword tags are one of the best ways of optimizing the number of visitors on your site.

A good web page should contain the information that people are looking for. So, while developing the content of any web page its really important to find out the important keywords and then to put them in the content of the web page. Basically the keywords can be found easily when u will view as a user or visitor of the web page, find out how the visitor will use the search terms and those search terms will become your most important keywords.

Keyword research is very time consuming but if done right, will provide your website a continuous flow of quality targeted traffic. Using the best keywords to describe your web site helps get those searchers to visit your website. In information retrieval a keyword is a word or phrase which describes a concept found in a document.

Search engines today only want one thing and that is quality, relevant search results that will be of help for all of their users. So, they only find those web pages having good content.

Keyword Density

At the time of this publication, an article – or webpage content – can be as short as 300 words while anything more than 600 words (in SEO Article Marketing) is thought to lose a reader’s interest. The number of words in an article is extremely important, as it helps to determine a thing called keyword density.

Here are a few techniques that you can use to help determine what keywords and phrases you should select preferably before building your Web site.

• First, make your own list of keywords (search words) and key phrases (search phrases) that your potential customers might use when looking for your information, product, or service. Remember to include synonyms and well as common misspellings.

• Search these keywords and key phrases to find your competitors on the top search engines. Then review these Web sites for keywords they are using.

• If you have a Web site with a statistics package or Web analytics software check the keywords and key phrases that people are presently using to view your Web site.

How to Analyze Keywords? The first step is research and creating a list of potential keywords. Various methods and ways to build the list of search terms are:

• List all the keywords your competitors are using on their websites.

• Discuss the likely search phrases_creations used by your colleagues and friends.

• Study the log for current traffic to your website and list all the keywords that brought traffic to your website.

• Refer Thesaurus.

• List all your primary products and services offered on the website.

If your website sells branded products and services then list all the brand names.

How Search Engines Work

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

To make easy money online you have to get high targeted traffic to your website. This is acheived by your knowledge of how to be ranking high in the search engines. The basic step is to know how search engines work.
Most searh engines have three parts:

  1. a crawler,
  2. an index,
  3. and a search interface

.Let’s look at each part individually to get a better understanding of them. Each part has its own role to play in the process, with all parts working together to make searches possiple.
1.The Crawler:
Also known as a “spider” or “bot”, this part of the search engine wanders the web, following links and picking up information for its database. Crawlers do most of their work at times of the day when searh engines are less busy, but they typically visit frequently updated pages more often. This is something to keep in mind when you are working on your pages.
Your site’s title and text(your content) are the most important thing to a crawler. The fastest way to raise your site’s search engine ranking for specific key words is to implementthem into your title and your content.
2.The index.

Once the crawler has collected all that text, it is then stored and indexed. This allows people searching for key words and phrases to get results relating to what they were searching for – their search results. Most sites will incorporate rating systems such as Google Page Rank or Alexa Rankings in positioning your site. These ratings are used attempt to ensure that sites that are important receive more traffic than unimportant sites. To see this in action, go to a search engine and type in a word. You’ll see some text on the page saying something like “results 1-10 of 1,234,000″. This means that the search engine’s index contains 1,234,000 pages it believes are related to the word you typed. If you wanted to, you could look through all these pages to find the information you’re looking for.
In order to understand rating systems more thoroughly consider your own site. When you place links on your site you generally do so to increase your users understanding of the content of your site.
If every site in a particular field links to a particular site, this site is probably very important to that field and should, therefore, be listed highly in the lists of search engine results. This is the basic ideology of Google Page Ranks.
Consider again , a site that receives a great deal of traffic, it probably has some information or service that is very important to its users. Alexa ratings attempt to estimate the amount of traffic that a particular site gets and compare it to the amount of traffic that other sites get. The closer that a site is to the most trafficed site on the internet, the more likely it is to have important content if it is relevant to search query.
3.The Interface.
Search engines provide a public intrface for users who want to find information on the web. They can type the word or phrase they’re searching for, and the interface will run an algorithm to find the pages relevant to their search and display them.
These algorithms are an important part of the SEO(Search Engine Optimization) business. You’ll notice when the algorithms change, the rankings of your website will change with them. No two search engines have the same algorithms. They all work differently, with their unique features, and they will all respond to your website in their own way.
The most popular search engines today include Google, Yahoo, MSN, Alltheweb, and AskJeeves.

Search Engines, How search engines work or how to get to the top search engine ranking?

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

These two questions are actually the same, because if one understands how search engines work, he will probably be able to get a site to the top search engines ranking. Think about it.

Unfortunately, the answer is a complicated, dynamic and a secret one. The answer has to do with SEO – Search engines optimization. In fact, very few SEO experts, SEO consultants, SEO software and SEO companies can actually give you a perfect SEO solution.

In the next few lines I will simplify how search engines work. To understand more you must contact and pay to a SEO consultant working with a popular SEO service:

1. The search engines visit your site occasionally and index new topics on your site.

2. The search engines measure the quality and popularity of your site by the number and types of links to your site by other website.

3. According to the site topics, quality and popularity and many other parameters the search engine rank the site for each keyword searched.

Now, I guess you have a website or developing one and you want to get it to the top search engine rankings. Well, If you have money I suggest you pay to an experienced SEO consultant working for one of the top SEO companies. Yet, if you do not have money, you can try doing it alone. But, be warned – a good SEO solution is time consuming. No matter which SEO software or SEO service you will be using, it will take you at least a couple of months to get your website to top search engines ranking.

Your first step would have to be reading more about the subject – reading about meta tags optimization services, keyword services, back links methods and organic SEO and using free SEO services like SEO toolbars and online SEO software. Good luck.

Blog Search Engine Optimisation

Thursday, July 30th, 2009

As mentioned in previous posts, using blogs to generate additional traffic for your primary site can pay huge dividends. Just “doing it” can mean significant increases in traffic, but what you really want to do here is – as in your main site – generate qualified traffic.

Post Writing – Content Creation Discipline

By that, I mean you want to draw in people who want exactly what you offer. That requires a disciplined approach to content creation;
- Research and consider carefully what your post is about, and know why you are writing it – the objective!
- Identify the keyword phrase/s that people are using to find information relevant to the topic you will write on.
- Ensure you place keywords in the post title, and early in the first paragraph, with some additional emphasis on the words, such as bold / italics.
- Include “exact match” keyword phrases throughout the body of the article.
- Add tags/slug i.e. a short list of specific relevant keywords – this may be used in the post page Keyword meta-tag.
- Write a concise Excerpt, loaded with keyword phrases – this may be used in the post page Description meta-tag.
- Use the Spell Checker!!! This article may be the first introduction a potential client has with your business.

Remember that “You NEVER get a second chance to create a first impression!”

Business Blogs Should Inform & Educate

In a business blog, which is there to inform & educate potential clients about aspects of your business, try to provide useful information, without a blatant sales pitch. By all means, encourage readers to “Inquire about Free Personal Advice” or “Contact us for More Information” but don’t overdo the sales pitch. Your goal is to convey your depth of knowledge and experience, and build credibility.

Blog Search Engine Optimisation

To maximise the penetration of your Blog posts, it is not sufficient to just write it and forget it. You need to ensure that your Business Blog is properly “optimised” to produce unique, accurately categorised, and clearly labelled content. This requires a SEO package implementation on your blog to ensure that your Posts, static Pages and Category pages are UNIQUE! We think Wordpress is the fastest and easiest blog platform to customize. It also has a comprehensive array of free SEO options, and following comments are specific to Wordpress.

This is best done dynamically, with installation of plugins that provide automation of;
- HTML Page URLs – using mod_rewrite to generate verbose, keyword-rich page file names.
- Page Title Tags – if you write good post titles, these can be used verbatim in the Title Tag.
- Page Description Meta-Tag – uses the post Excerpt, or the first 20 words of 1st paragraph.
- Page Keyword Meta-Tag – used the post Tag or Slug to generate keywords.

Accurate Content Cataloguing Pays Dividends

The combined impact of attention to detail in posting generation and publishing, plus Search Engine Optimisation finesse on the page production, will deliver dramatic improvements to blog traffic. At the same time, it wil ensure that visitors get exactly what they were seeking due to the resulting accuracy of your content cataloguing efforts.

That will encourage them to bookmark the site, or specific page, and to come back looking for additional details.
