Affiliate Programs, How to Success in Niche Affiliate Marketing

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Many wanted to make a living online, but most can’t breakthrough it. Most people will give up first before they reach the destination they want. Did you know why people give up the moment they can’t make any money or they can’t get the result they want? It is because they have lost the drive and motivation that keeps them going.
And why did they lose the drive and motivation? It is because they are not passionate in what they do. If you are passionate in what you do, you will never lose the drive and the motivation. Take niche affiliate marketing for example, many affiliates give up whenever they did not produce the results they want, it is because they don’t have the love in it.
Find your love and you will find success. Yes, it will be hard starting out. It is in any business you get started in. If your business is also your passion and your hobby though, you will make it through and won’t quit when it gets hard, because you love it. Therefore, you have to find a niche affiliate marketing that you love to do. What I mean is the market, the product, and the way how you reach people.
So how can you find out where is your love? Very simple, ask this question and you will know, “What will I do if I had all the money in the world, will I keep doing it?” This is the question that you should ask in order for you to achieve success in your niche affiliate marketing business.
Most of us get into niche affiliate marketing because we want to make money instead of because we love to do it. And that will be the main reason so many of us lose the drive when we face obstacles and can’t get the results we want. Look at Bill Gates and Warren Buffett, even they have all the money, but they still keep on working, because it is what they love.
You see, when you do something that you love, you will never complain and you will never lose the drive of doing it, because you love it. The same goes for niche affiliate marketing, if you want to keep on motivated all the time, and then choose a market that you have loved in it. It can be dog training, magic, golfing, tennis, camping, etc. Choose the one you are passionate with, and money will follow.

Search Engines, The Holy Trinity of SEO – Three factors to Success!

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

With the SERPs (search engine results pages) being the new High Street – you didn’t think it would be easy to achieve height in the rankings did you? Settle your mind – the easy days are gone – they weren’t much good anyway. Only geeks bought from the web a few years ago. Now it’s essential to be on the web for most companies because only now is when people buy services and goods through the medium. See TurnerDow for the full 27 methods to optimise your company in it’s online incarnation, covering PPC, SEM and SEO. Most of these are cyberspace common sense, not doing them will incur potential penalties. Assuming these are all OK – here is the holy trinity of search engine optimisation.

The Father. Title Tags
This is the easy one – though completing it should be preceded by signifcant pondering. It’s promotional but you need to make it nice for search engines too. It’s the heading that will appear in the SERPs when your site gets returned in it’s listings. Work hard on it. Look at how succesful sites (those returned highly for phrases you’d also like to be returned highly for) use the tag noting the anatomy. Just a few words, but an essential part of the seo success trinity.

The Son. Make a Great Site
If you build it they’ll come. Take xe.com the currency conversion site. It’s one of the most popular sites in the world. YouTube, Alibaba, MySpace, About and many more. These sites are places people want to come, they don’t need links but get them anyway. If you have yet another laptop sales site, you have your work cut out – but if you have figured out a way for people to get cheaper diesel for their cars, are you going to need to request links? Nope. Somewhere in between these extremes is your site. Realistically it isn’t likely to be in either category – but be sure to make your site fully featured but intuitive, simple but useful, a good visitor experience – and your work of getting back links is much easier. If the site is one of many cookie-cutter sites, well, why should anyone link to it? What’s the point? But if they get there and they see something others would like to see – something they enjoy – they’ll link in time, even if you have to request it. Natural links will come too, something the search engines will see and like.

The Holy Ghost. External Links
You saw this one coming huh? You were hoping there was some way around gettng backlinks, but knew in your heart that it had to be there. One could almost invoke the estate agents mantra: Location, Location, Location, replacing it of course with Backlinks, Backlinks, Backlinks. But the other two points of the sacred triangle have to be present too. Getting backlinks is the webmasters curse. It’s so effective because it’s so difficult – the search engines know that other sites get link requests continually and unless there is some reason not to, junk them. Carry out the second in this list well and the task will be much easier. If your site is good, they will link. Well allright – with a little encouragement from you. How to get links? Locate the right sites, request a link (not reciprocal) after a little flattery of their work, and provide the html for their ease. Be respectful but not pleading. Be brief but not curt. Expect no more than 5% success rate. It’s the holy grail of the holy trinity – the bit that everyone hates doing, but the part that is the most essential of the three.

Work on your title tags, get inbound links, make a useful, enjoyable site to get success in your SEO. That’s the SEO Holy Trinity. Now to work!

Affiliate Programs, Earn Money with Affiliate’s Assistance

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

Affiliate marketing is highly profitable business venture. It is driven by web applications and web technology and therefore classified as a web service. In affiliate marketing, web site owners and advertisers work together to meet some common goals. The owner of the web sites does the advertising and marketing of the goods and the advertiser specifies as what to advertise and objectives of such tasks.
Web sites are the next best spaces after real environment spaces and stores. The space on the web sites is cheaper than any other platform. An advertiser or merchant can display a number of products in a small space say one web page.
Affiliates can be made to work on performance basis. This way the merchant is always on the safer side. The merchant has to pay a profit share and not just a big time investment for which returns may or may not be made.
To earn money with affiliate all that a merchant needs is to devise a proper plan and affiliate program. Affiliate programs are scheduled work modules which allow the publishers to advertise and promote the goods and services provided by the merchant. Affiliate programs are meant to make the publisher understand the requirements and try to provide assistance in return for the remunerations.
Affiliate programs should be framed with care and caution. Some important aspects of such programs are the content requirements, the communication between the affiliate and the advertiser, the payment structure, monitoring of the process, etc. Taking care of them, the merchant can earn good money and reputation with the affiliate.
The advertising tasks which an affiliate performs on day to day basis may help the short term goals but for sustainable growth advertisers have to stress on building up a good relation with the affiliate.
Many cases have been reported where the merchants or earn money with affiliate than from other sources. One reason for it may be the nature of the service itself. A web sites publisher or affiliate places your product to thousands of the people and there are good chances of few buying them or expressing their interest in the products. It happens everyday with the users surfing on the Internet and landing on the web sites to discover that they need something of that sort. It is all but possible.

Optimum SEO Keyword Density – A Real-Life Case Study

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

So you’ve built your website, you know what keywords you want to target (i.e. what words your customers are searching for), and you’re ready to write your copy and your free-reprint articles. You’ve been told that you should use your keywords frequently so that you appear in search results for those words. But what does “frequently” mean?
How many times should you use your primary keyword in your web copy and your article submissions? This case study helps answer that question.

Some background on “Keyword Density”

In order to understand optimum keyword usage, we first need to have some way of measuring keyword frequency. In the Search Engine Optimization (SEO) world, frequency is actually referred to as density. (Keyword density applies equally to website copy and free reprint article submissions.) Keyword density is a measure of the number of times your keyword appears on a page expressed as a percentage of the total wordcount of that page. For example, if your page has 100 words, and your keyword phrase appears 5 times, its density is 5%. So when you hear someone say “keyword density”, that’s normally what they’re talking about. (TIP: You can automatically check the keyword density of your page or article submission at LiveKeywordAnalysis.com.)
However, there is another, more complex measure of keyword density which takes into account the text components in the HTML of the page or article submission (i.e. the meta tags: Title, Keywords, Alt Text, Description, and Comments). When using this measure, you don’t just count the words your visitor sees; you also count the words in your meta tags. For example, if you have 100 words on the page, 10 words in your Title tag, 20 words in your Description tag, 70 words in your Alt tags, and 10 words in your Comments tag, your total wordcount for the page is 100 + 10 + 20 + 70 + 10 = 210. Similarly, when counting keywords, you don’t just add up the number of times a visitor will see your keyword, you also count the number of times that keyword appears in your meta tags. For example, if your keyword appears 5 times in the home page copy, 3 times in the Title tag, 5 times in the Description tag, 30 times in your Alt tags, and twice in your Comments tag, your total keyword count is 5 + 3 + 5 + 30 + 2 = 45. So with a total wordcount of 210 and a keyword count of 45, your keyword density is 45/210 x 100 = 21%. It is argued that this measure of keyword density is more relevant as the search engines measure density in this fashion. (TIP: You can automatically check the keyword density of your page using this more complex measure at GoRank.com.)
As you can see, you need to be very aware of which measure you’re talking about when you’re talking “keyword density”. But let me reiterate; mostly when people talk about keyword density, they’re talking the simple measure.

What is the optimum keyword density

And now down to business… What keyword density (of either kind) should you be targeting on your website and in your free reprint article submission?
There’s a lot of debate surrounding this issue because the search engine companies don’t disclose the details of their algorithms (as that would allow people to abuse the system). Instead, people working in the SEO world are left to figure it out based on their experience.
A recent free reprint article submission by respected SEO and Blog expert, Wayne Hurlbert, (see Keyword Density: SEO Considerations) suggests that Google sees pages with a keyword density of greater than 2% as spam. It was this article which prompted me to analyze the keyword density of my copywriting website.

Case Study

The Website: This case study analyzes the website for advertising copywriting and SEO copywriting business, Divine Write (DivineWrite.com). For the primary keyword, the site is now on page 1 of Google.com (out of approximately 900,000 search results).
Number of pages on site: At the time of writing, the website contained a total of 53 pages.
Primary keyword phrase: “copywriter”
Average keyword density: Using the simple measure of keyword density discussed above, the average keyword density of the copywriting website is 1.9%. Using the complex measure it’s 4.9%.
Keyword density range: Using the simple measure, the density ranged from 0.4% to 7.6%. Using the complex measure it ranged from 1.6% to 17.5%.
Some comments on the figures

  • The figures and corresponding ranking detailed in this case study may not be directly relevant to every site.
  • With regard to Wayne Hurlbert’s article, it would seem that he is referring to keyword density as calculated using the simple method discussed above.
  • The range figures are noteworthy because they suggest that you don’t need to be paranoid about having some pages with a very high density and some with a very low density.

Conclusion

A simple keyword density of 1.9% can be enough for a first page ranking in Google.com (assuming you have enough quality backlinks – see SEO for CEOs and How to Top Google by Writing Articles for more information). This density measure is also sufficient for your free reprint article submissions.
Happy SEO writing!

Search Engines, One way links or two way links?

Tuesday, March 31st, 2009

This is a big question that is playing on the mind of almost all search engine optimizers. There are many forums and blogs where this is being discussed to make it easier for the SEO analysts to know the best possible way to get backlinks. Now we all know what can more and more backlinks mean to a website when its performance on search engine results page is considered.
Let us first analyze the case of reciprocal links or two-way links. You would want your site to be linked by a PR3 and above site. This is normally possible when you too have a PR3 site else the other site administrator might not be interested for all justified reasons. But in case you have a lower page rank or no page rank at all, then it becomes a very difficult process. Why would a PR3 site link to your site when you have a zero Page rank? There is also one more reason why one should try to avoid two ways links though it can generate more backlinks. More and more outbound links decreases the overall page rank of the site. So today more and more sites are trying to get inbound links and that too one-way links. This is possible through article posting. Great articles when submitted in hundreds can boost up the page rank. You can post articles to sites that accept them with a link to your website. So you don’t have to link your site to others whereas your site is getting linked. But one point needs to be remembered that the articles should not be sloppy and of no use. The article should be easy to read, informative, have all the answers that one is looking for to make it viewed by more and more number of users.
Reciprocal links can be very helpful once you have already achieved a high page rank. Then you can get links easily from other PR3 and above sites. It is not always possible to continue writing great articles. It is then that the two way link procedure can be of real help. But for the initial stages article posting is no doubt a better option to get one way inbound links.
The ground rule for search engine optimization is to make your website popular on the web. When you don’t want to spend on advertisements and paid links, getting one-way links through article posting is the best possible option.

How to Evaluate Your Own Site's SEO Profile

Monday, March 30th, 2009

If you have even a passing interest in the topic of SEO, then you should take a look at the following information. This enlightening article presents some of the latest news on the subject of SEO.
Before you can evaluate your site’s SEO profile, you need to understand what an SEO profile is and how it works. An SEO profile for a website is just like a marketing plan or a business plan – basically, it’s a strategy document, putting your decisions into words. This is best performed on a computer program such as Microsoft Word as these programs do provide the best bang for your buck. All else aside, Microsoft does put out some excellent business oriented software so take advantage of it!
Writing your SEO profile should consist of the following:
An introduction – This should include a BRIEF description of your company as well as a purpose statement of some kind. If you can describe your company in a neat, tight format, you will be one step ahead of most in the SEO game.
Goals relating to your Search Engine Status – What do you want your page rank to be? Where do you want to be listed under specif key words? top 50? 25? 10? How many pages of your site do you want search engines to index? Do you want to pay for listings? These questions will get you started, but you must go more in-depth into your SEO goals. Also include the search engines and directories that you feel are necessities such as Google, DMOZ, Yahoo!, and MSN.
Information regarding SEO actions and achievements – This one is pretty self-explanatory. List everything that you do regarding Search Engine Optimization as well as any successes caused by these actions.

Sometimes the most important aspects of a subject are not immediately obvious. Keep reading to get the complete picture.
Once you’ve written an SEO profile, you can compare it from time-to-time with what’s going on with your site, before either adjusting the site to reflect your strategy or adjusting the profile to reflect a strategy change. Generally, it is wise to stick to the plan, but occasions may arise when you find that this is simply not logical anymore. In these cases, you must re-evaluate your entire plan because one change can effect the rest of your strategy. If you have an extremely intricate strategy that depends on one thing going well, you may want to diversify your strategy. Your profile should especially focus on special things you plan to do that aren’t standard SEO practice. Standard SEO work can get you only so far. Every one of your competitors is probably doing the same things so get creative. This is one place where doing something for yourself can really push you to the top. If you already have a high-ranking site, you should use your profile to document the reasons why it has happened, to help you maintain your high ranking.
Keeping your SEO profile updated will allow you to stay current not only on what’s going on with your website, but also on what’s going on in the SEO industry. The SEO industry is very fickle. It can change suddenly without warning to reflect what a search engine or directory believes to be the opinion or benefit of the market. Remember that search engines are always in competition with one another to deliver the most results of the highest quality. If you stay on top of your quality, changes in the SEO industry will have minimal effect on you. It is still important to track these changes in order to ensure that your site gets maximum exposure. Evaluating your website and profile regularly give you an advantage in the market – you should never let a profile get older than 3 months, and you should refer to it and update it every time you make major changes to your site. These changes include additions of services or removal of services as well as design changes and SEO work.
There is software available online that can help you evaluate your site’s SEO profile. Some of these software are very useful, others are very overrated. The difference that these programs will make in your fight for page rank and listings depends on your interpretation of the results nearly as much as it depends on the value of the software itself. In order to find some software simply google for SEO software. Reading the reviews and making judgement calls is the best way to determine the worth of SEO software. If you think that its worth going for look at the cost of it. If the cost seems to high, it probably is. You can generally evaluate your SEO profile on your own once you have learned what to look for in an Search Engine Optomized page.
Now you can understand why there’s a growing interest in SEO. When people start looking for more information about SEO, you’ll be in a position to meet their needs.

Make Money With Articles: the Best Place to Place Affiliate Links on your Website

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Where you place your affiliate links on your website can really make a difference on how many clicks you end up getting and, since every click means a potential sale, this is an important aspect of internet marketing.

Research has shown that the most effective affiliate links are text links. Yes, plain text links. Not big flashy banner ads like most affiliate website are filled to the brim with. What happens is, you write a great article (or have one created) about the product or something related to the product and stick the link into your text. This allows interested readers to see the link as they are reading and click on it.

Of course, your article and your link have to work effectively together to make this happen. A bad article and an unrelated link to an unknown product are not likely to make the profits roll in.

So the next time you are out to choose an affiliate link, try placing a relevant link in a great article that is well optimized for search engines and see how it works out for you.

SEO — The Tortoise or the Hare

Monday, March 30th, 2009

Search Engine Optimization is one way in which you can get your website in front of the search engines. But what do you need to do in the Search Engine Optimization process? And is it worth it? I will give a quick overview of some of the factors involved and I’ll let you determine for yourself if it is worth it.
KEYWORDS
First and foremost, search engines look for keywords and keyword phases in which to index your webpages. So you must prepare each page for the search engines. Thus, when you are writing copy for your website, keep four or five keywords that you want to emphasize for that webpage — then weave the words into the copy.
However, don’t blatantly use the keywords over and over again — or as they say — use keyword stuffing — or the search engines will penalize you for it. And, needless to say, your readers will click away, if the flow of the copy is so obviously stuffed with your keywords that it jeopardizes the quality of the copy. Quality of copy first, keywords second.

META-TAGS
There are several meta-tags that the search engines look at. The two most important are:
1. Title 2. Description
Both the Title and the Description Tags should have your most relevant keywords. Now, the keywords meta-tags is not used by Google, but the other search engines may utilize them. Are they important? It really depends who you are talking too. Some say, by putting the keywords into your webpage you are giving your competitors the edge. Others, feel that if your competitors want to know what keywords you are using they will find a way. (I’m of the latter’s thinking.)
LINKING
Linking is another important factor in Search Engine Optimization. Without proper linking — or establishing a linking campaign — your great site may not be found by the search engines. You need to find ways in which to allow human visitors, beside yourself, to find you.
INBOUND LINKS
Inbound links — links pointing to your website is very good for search engine rankings, and gives more ways for human visitors to find your website.
How do you get inbound links? Write articles and place them on article directories for ezine publishers, newsletter publishers, or bloggers to pick up.
Blogs is another way in which you can get one-way links to your site. Again, that same article you wrote for the article directories can be put in your blog and then submitted to a Blog Directory. Just do a search on Goggle for “Blog Directory” and you should find enough to keep you busy.
OUTBOUND LINKS
An outbound link is a url that you have on your site that points to another website. An outbound link on your site means that you feel the link has quality content for your readers — and you are redirecting them to it from your site.
So, what does outbound linking offer you? You can see what an outbound link can do for another website, right? Well, by carefully linking to other sites– relevant sites — you can increase your own relevancy.
So be careful who you link too — because outbound links figures into the entire ranking algorithm process — or restated — your page ranking.
To conclude, this overview is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to SEO. It’s not an easy task, and it is time-comsuming. Will you see a quick return moneywise. No, but SEO will eventually give you the money you seek, as well as, offer you longevity. And isn’t that what you want–longevity? I know I sure do. I would rather be the tortoise, and not the hare — and slowly, but methodically move in the direction of my dream of a home career. If you take the wrong shortcuts, you can lose your dream and your home career. So, is SEO worth it? I think so. How about you.

Affiliate Programs, The Secret Benefits of Reselling eBooks & Software

Monday, March 30th, 2009

When I started out back in 1998, there was a lot of junk on the web. Really useless junk that internet marketers tried desperately to make a buck with. Well, that’s about all they did make – a few bucks. eBooks were still a very new concept and it would take all these years for them to reach the level of demand you see today.
The concept of reselling digital goods like ebooks and software has been around as long as I remember, but there has never been a time when the quality of products and methods for profiting with them has been so easy. For anyone starting out in the internet marketing game, reselling digital goods is a great place to start. If you already have an existing website, these products can make a great addition both in attracting new customers to your site, as well as generating extra profits.
Benefits of Reselling eBooks & Software:
- Most reseller packages contain everything you need to get started. A good reseller package includes all the sales materials, instructions, and graphics to start selling the same day.
- Your small investment turns into long-term profits. Once you purchase a product with resell rights, you can often sell the product for whatever price you choose and with the ease of automated orders & deliveries, you have a system which can generate profits for years. It’s a simple “Buy Once, Profit Forever” concept that works extremely well and is the backbone of many internet marketer’s success.
- Boost traffic and revenue to an existing website. Finding related products to resell from your website can only benefit you by attracting more visitors and boosting revenues. Think about it, if you add ten extra products to your website, each with their own search engine optimized page, you could pull in 100’s or 1000’s of new visitors every month. So what if they’ve seen or boughten this same product before? You can simply add a display of your other products on the same page, so that they are introduced to your main products.
– Affiliate program visibility & expansion. If you run your own affiliate program, then you already know how powerful it is in generating sales and traffic. Most affiliate programs are set up through networks where 100’s or 1000’s of products are displayed for affiliates to choose from. It can be easy for your affiliate program to get lost in the crowd. Remember, many affiliate networks consist of 1000’s or 10,000+ affiliates looking for programs to promote. If you add 10-12 new products into the affiliate network, you are increasing your visibility among other other sellers, and reaching even more affiliates for your products. A large number of those affiliates will visit your site and may notice that you offer even more affiliate programs for them to promote. This gives you a great advantage over other sellers using the same affiliate network. The added bonus is that those affiliates may decide they want to buy your products themselves! Another win-win situation.
- Offering visitors a bonus. Many ebooks with resell rights allow you to offer them as a “bonus” whenever someone purchases your own product. This is a great way to boost sales as it adds more value to the purchase. It also gives you an edge on the competition.
As you can see, reselling ebooks and software gives you many advantages in boosting your internet marketing revenues and website traffic. To overlook these products because of pride or preconceived notions about these types of products is like having a winning lottery ticket and throwing it in the garbage.
